Phone not starting anymore. Qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008 (COM5). I have hard bricked samsung galaxy s4 mini i9195 - I tried this method with QFIL software Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008, unbrick-qualcomm-mobiles does not work for me (( then found sdcard trick with debrick.img file.

It is possible to fix, I have done it with other android devices before, but it requires tools and system images for the Qualcomm chip itself.

I've had a quick look to see if I could find these tools myself, but it does not look like there's anything available. In this case, to try it would mean voiding your warranty. Keep going with the RMA, if it's somewhat common like what it's said in your other thread, they shouldn't have an issue sending another device. UPDATE: First refurbished device they sent for my bricked Silver 128-GB Pixel was a Black 32-GB Pixel (wat in the actual F google), despite it being in a Silver 128-GB box, and the phone rep insisting their system said the corresponding IMEI # showed that it was a Silver 128.

Nah, I was holding it in my hand. I know the difference between silver and black, and internal storage showed 32-GB. Had to RMA that one as well, which took another week, lovely.

Just received 2nd refurbished replacement.at least it's the correct Silver 128-GB model. But now I'm gun-shy updating to Oreo, but what choice do I have? Absolutely regret this purchase. 5 years ago I bought the Nexus table only to have THREE of them brick on me within 12 months til they gave me a full refund.

Google just doesn't the hardware thing figured out yet imo. (Just in the last 2 days I've seen FOUR new reports of bricked Pixels resulting from the Oreo upgrade.FFS, Google you control both the hardware and software, this shouldn't be happening.). Maybe the HTC Buyout will help that:P the reality is, theres no guarantee that just because a vendor builds both the software and hardware, that it will be perfect. Theres likely just as much issues on iPhones and Samsungs. This is why there are repair centers and apple stores.

What makes the difference, is HOW vendors react to situations like this and turn a bad experience into a good one. Eventually you'll have to update, security updates will stop since itll be bundled into Oreo. I upgraded mine to Oreo via ADB and has been running fine.

I'd suggest when you are ready, make sure you set the conditions right before upgrading - put it on charge, dont interrupt the process, keep the updater on screen and make sure it does it properly. Film it even, from the moment you hit the install button.

If it bricks again, you can send them the video as proof.
